Baxi Boiler Installation London

This UK company was founded by Richard Baxendale in 1866, in partnership with Joseph Heald. The company is best known for their Baxi boilers, the company also produce solar thermal and heat pumps.

One of the oldest British boiler manufacturers still in operation today, Baxi became well-known back in the 1960s with the introduction of their Baxi Bermuda back boiler series.

Hugely popular because of it’s unique design, the Baxi Bermuda combined a stylish gas fire with radiant or inset live fuel effect, along with a central heating boiler in one unit. Today, back boilers are being phased out in UK homes due to the change in regulations on the use of open flue appliances.

Baxi went on to produce more modern versions of back boilers to comply with new regulations, and have even won prestigious Gas industry innovation awards. These new style boilers are highly efficient condensing back boilers combined with a stylish electric fire from the Valor’s Dimension range.

The company have evolved and adapted their range of boilers over the years, and have been at the forefront of innovative new designs and engineering since their inception. In 1983, Philip Baxendale sold off the company to its own employees making it the largest employee partnership in the country at that time.

During the 1980s they launched the Baxi Solo, a revolutionary design featuring a sleek and compact boiler that was simple to operate and easy to install, needing just one engineer to lift and fit the unit. The original design featured a pilot light and balanced flue system, but then was redesigned as new technology was introduced to become a fan flued system with and electric ignition.
